TNA News on Mistico, Lashley, Nash & More

News

Mistico has contacted TNA about coming in to work for them, probably as an occasional attraction owing to his Mexican commitments. Talks may hit a snag if TNA does change to taping Impact every Thursday and Friday, since then Mistico would be missing out on the big Friday shows in Mexico. TNA wants to get a major Mexican babyface onto the roster in light of how well Rey Mysterio has drawn the Hispanic audience to Smackdown.

Kurt Angle and Booker T are keen to bring Bobby Lashley into TNA. Lashley’s non-compete clause expires on 10 May but at present he seems to be leaning towards pursuing an MMA career instead. He spent some time recently at the American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose. Angle says he was the one that first got Lashley his WWE try-out.

Kevin Nash says he may retire when his current contract runs out due to chronic neck injury. He said he may run for public office but that he is also interested in learning about TV production and perhaps helping to market Impact in overseas markets.

Daniel Rodimer is another former wrestler on the American Gladiators shortlist. He was set for a major push as a bodyguard for Rated RKO last year, only for WWE officials to decide he was too green for such a role and for Rodimer to quit in response.

OVW may still be able to book WWE talent in the future. WWE has said that their wrestlers can work for the promotion on their days off, they just won’t get paid for it anymore.
