Final trailer for Bryan Singer's Valkyrie

Trailers

United Artists has debuted the final trailer for Valkyrie over at Yahoo. The WWII film’s release date, as some you may recall, was once thought to be February 14, 2009. But because test screenings were so good, it will be released on December 26, 2008. The teaser from a few months ago looked good, but the final trailer makes it one of the better movies to be released in the wake of Christmas. Because nothing says a “Happy New Year” like Tom Cruise trying to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Once you see the trailer, tell us what you think.

Watch the final trailer for Bryan Singer’s Valkyrie:

Valkyrie tells the story of the plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, an operation conceived by German Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Cruise). The colonel becomes part of the July 20, 1944 plot to execute Valkyrie in order to take control of the country and make peace with the Allies. But Stauffenberg finds himself taking on not only the responsibility of leading the coup, but also the task to assassinate Hitler himself.

Valkyrie is directed by Bryan Singer, who previously directed The Usual Suspects, X-Men 1 & 2, and Superman Returns. The film’s screenplay was written by Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects, The Way of the Gun) and Nathan Alexander. Valkyrie arrives in theaters on December 26th this year.
