Get Walled In with Mischa Barton this April!

News on the latest direct-to-DVD horror flick brought to us by the fine folks at Anchor Bay Entertainment.

Walled In stars Mischa Barton (TV’s The O.C., The Sixth Sense) as a structural engineer who has been given the project of demolishing a building designed by one of her favorite architects, Malestrazza. When she goes to the building, she finds that the building’s history holds some deep dark secrets.

Author’s note: I had the pleasure (misfortune?) of seeing Walled In at a screening. Mischa Barton is just about as convincing as an engineer as Tara Reid was as a scientist. But that’s not the worst of it. The movie has absolutely nothing to offer. To call it a horror movie would be misleading as there is very little horror in this at all. This is more of a wannabe thriller. The story is incredibly weak and moves very slow. The setting is also really odd. Everyone in the movie touts Malestrazza to be some sort of architectural genius, and yet he built an apartment building – the one featured in the movie – in the middle of a state park that looks like a giant concrete prison. It’s one of the ugliest buildings on the outside that I’ve ever seen. And yes, it’s in the middle of a state park. Or at least that’s what it looks like. One minute Mischa Barton is driving past a sign that says Now entering such and such state park and the next minute, she’s driving up to the building.

But, if you still want to check it out, Walled In arrives on DVD on April 17, 2009 and stars Mischa Barton, Cameron Bright (the creepy kid from Birth), and Deborah Kara Unger (88 Minutes). Available for pre-order at Amazon.com.

Jenny is proud to be the First Lady of Inside Pulse Movies. She gives female and mommy perspective, and has two kids who help with rating family movies. (If they don't like 'em, what's the point?) She prefers horror movies to chick flicks, and she can easily hang with the guys as long as there are several frou-frou girlie drinks to be had.
