NFL Offseason: Top 5 Free-Agent signings

News

With the nfl offseason well underway and several key free agents already signed its time to take a look at the top five free-agent signings thus far.

#5- Domonique Foxworth, Baltimore Ravens- The Ravens signed Cornerback Domonique Foxworth after he failed to reach a deal with the Atlanta Falcons. Foxworth was accquired by Atlanta from Jacksonville last season. Playing well towards the end of the season, it was almost certain he would stay in Atlanta. That wasn’t the case as Baltimore signed a verteran who will help their already superb defense.

#4- Brian Dawkins, Denver Broncos- The Broncos made a huge splash early, signing verteran cornerback Brian Dawkins who spent last season with the Philadelphia Eagles. The seven time pro-bowler will bring veteran leadership to the Broncos while providing solid play at the cornerback position.

#3- Jeff Saturday, Indianapolis Colts- The Colts re-signed Peyton Manning’s long time center Jeff Saturday. The three time pro-bowler reached a three year deal with the Colts. The 10 year, 33 year old veteran will provide the offensive line with leadership. He will protect Peyton Manning and the offensive line will still be the same as long as it has Saturday’s leadership under center.

#2- Albert Haynesworth, Washington Redskins- The ‘skins signed Defensive Tackle Albert Haynesworth to a seven year $100 million dollar deal. If you dont make the playoffs in a city that demands alot, such as Washington D.C. you make a big splash in free-agency and thats what the Redskins did.

#1- Bart Scott, New York Jets-  Bart Scott was wanted by both the Ravens and the Jets. The Jets ended up winning the battle  and signed him to a six year $48 million dollar deal, with $22 million guaranteed. Is Scott the missing piece to the Jets defense this year?
