Wednesday WWE Show & More News from Shareholders Meeting

News

WWE held its latest shareholders meeting (click to watch) today, during which Vince McMahon said he’d like to add a weekly Wednesday show to the mix in order to help viewers stay up to date on storylines, WWE in Playboy and other developments.

According to Prowrestling.net (which also featured reporting from Devin Cutting), Kevin Dunn missed the meeting and may have been hospitalized; Vince said he wasn’t interested in promoting MMA; it was revealed that WWE has major plans to market this year’s Summerslam, the company is now working with Pepsi – but not with Playboy, who wanted another Diva this year, but WWE turned it down due to trying to be more family-friendly – and plans to work in China, and may postpone the next Mexico tour due to the swine flu outbreak.

Vince said he likely wasn’t patient enough to be in the movies, and that he wouldn’t end Undertaker’s streak since it would anger a lot of fans. He talked about the problems with having PPV outside the U.S. (he wants them to air live stateside), explained that while ECW wasn’t a “farm” territory like FCW, it was a good place for younger talent to break into the big leagues, and said that if WWE did another reality show, it would have to have proper production values (nothing “cheap”) and would likely be centered around the divas instead of doing another Tough Enough.
