JBL On Last Match, Rourke, Benoit, Michaels, MMA

News

Around The Octagon has an interview with respected private citizen JBL. He talks a lot about MMA, which he’s promoting with Danny Davis’s Vyper Fight League. That leads in to JBL talking about Brock Lesnar in UFC, the need for villains in MMA (and Nascar and Bull Riding), the WWE stars he thinks could make it in MMA (Shelton Benjamin and Jack Swagger), and why Kurt Angle shouldn’t be involved in the sport.

JBL does talk about his WWE career, too, from his final match (and all the time he had to reflect on his wrestling career during the quarter mile walk backstage), who he sees main eventing Wrestlemania 30, his favorite matches, his thoughts on Jericho and Benoit, and working with Shawn Michaels. Oh, and why Mickey Rourke had MMA legend Frank Shamrock with him at ringside when he had his Wrestlemania moment with Jericho:

Mickey Rourke didn’t know Jericho was working him or not so he brought Frank Shamrock and a couple of heavys in cage Jericho took him down. He was really worried Jericho was serious about hurting him. He even admitted it afterwards. He made a movie about wrestling and he didn’t know Chris was acting (laughs).
