Five more to join Greg Mottola's Paul
by Travis Leamons on May 27, 2009

The stars of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, are at it again. Edgar Wright might not be the man behind the camera, but Superbad‘s Greg Mottola should work out just fine. And wait until you see who’s joining the comedy.

Universal and Working Title Films have added Seth Rogen, Jason Bateman, Kristen Wiig, Bill Hader and Jane Lynch to the cast of Paul, reports Variety.

The road trip comedy stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost and will be directed by Greg Mottola.

Pegg and Frost, who wrote the script, will play two science-fiction fanatics on a road trip whose conspiracy dreams come true when they trek to Area 51 and encounter the title character, an escaped alien.

Rogen will provide the voice of the alien.

Shooting begins in June.

While road comedies can be hit or miss – I didn’t much care for Fanboys – I have complete faith in Pegg and Frost. And the additions of Jason Bateman and Bill Hader pretty much sealed the deal that I’ll be seeing this. Most likely in the spring 2010.
