Battlestar Galactica's "Starbuck" To Join 24 Cast

News, Top Story

Katee Sackhoff will be on network TV next season after all — just not in the place she initially had planned.

Sackhoff — Battlestar Galactica’s Starbuck — will be a regular on 24 for its eighth season, a FOX spokesperson confirms. She’ll be playing a member of the reformed CTU, which means she’ll be working alongside fellow ass-kicker Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland).

She’s the latest of several additions to the 24 cast for next season, including Mykelti Williamson, Freddie Prinze Jr., Doug Hutchinson, Jennifer Westfeldt and Anil Kapoor. The show began production on season eight at the end of May and will take its usual spot on the FOX schedule in January.

Sackhoff’s character will be a data analyst at CTU who’s involved with Prinze’s character, a field agent. She’s also harboring a secret from her past.

Following the end of Battlestar Galactica, Sackhoff starred in the NBC pilot Lost & Found, which was the subject of a fan campaign to get another network to pick it up after NBC passed. After being released from that commitment, she was free to join 24.

I'm not embarrassed to say that my favorite television show of all-time is The O.C. I live by the motto "you can't fight fate!" More importantly, I watch WAY too much television, but I do so for the benefit of everyone reading this now. So to my mom and my wife, I say thanks for reading! To everyone else that might stumble across this, remember TiVo should be your best friend!
