Misawa Remembered; Hero Talks About Being Ringside

News

Chris Hero, who’s touring with NOAH, gave a first hand account of what it was like to be at ringside last night after Misawa had his heart attack at his MySpace blog:

The moments at ringside felt an eternity. Never, in my life, have I wanted the fighting spirit to jump into someone’s being more than I wanted tonight. The fans chanted Misawa, Misawa, Misawa. They wanted their Hero to get up so fucking bad. Just get up. Come on! You’re too tough for this. Too strong. I grabbed his boots and held onto them til they took him away.

Hero sends out his condolences to Misawa’s family and friends, as well as his opponents in last night’s match.

NOAH alumnus Low Ki also commented on Misawa’s passing on his official website. He talked about interacting with the man when he worked there, and what it meant to him:

“He was the first person I saw after my first championship match in NOAH and he said something that meant so much to me, “good job”. It was an honor to be apart of his company. I just can’t believe hes gone. I don’t know what else to say. This is terrible. I feel terrible.”

PW Torch’s James Caldwell has collected further thoughts from Hero, as well as reactions from Matt Hardy, Matt Morgan, Jeremy Borash, and Gangrel, via Twitter. Thanks to him for that.
