Cancelled Earl to have Final DVD Release this September

Disc Announcements, News, Press Releases

How did My Name Is Earl get canceled after only four seasons? Perhaps the show about quirky folks in a trailer park dealing with karma just didn’t do enough good acts to keep NBC from canceling it? NBC kept the lower rated Chuck on their upcoming schedule. There were rumors that TBS would pick it up for one more season. But such wasn’t the destiny. My Name Is Earl: Season Four comes out on Blu-ray and DVD in September. Here are the details of the upcoming release from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

CENTURY CITY, Calif. The road to hilarity is paved with good intentions when Earl Hickey and his band of hapless misfits return for My Name Is Earl: Season Four, arriving on Blu-ray Disc and DVD September 15 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. Fresh from a season three stint in the local prison, the fourth and final season of the Emmy® Award-winning series follows Earl (two-time Golden Globe® nominee* Jason Lee, Alvin and the Chipmunks) as he continues on his quest to cleanse his karma following a $100,000 lottery win. With the help of his dim-witted brother Randy (Ethan Suplee, Cold Mountain), Randys sexy girlfriend Catalina (Nadine Velazquez, The Bold and the Beautiful), Crab Shack owner Darnell (Eddie Steeples, Torque) and Earls ex-wife Joy (Emmy® Award winner** Jaime Pressly, Not Another Teen Movie), Earls mission will not be complete until he has made right all of his previous wrongs.

My Name Is Earl: Season Four features guest performances from a whos who of television and film greats including Burt Reynolds (Boogie Nights), Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon) and Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg), plus Betty White (The Golden Girls), Erik Estrada (CHiPs) and Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest). A favorite amongst critics and fans alike, “My Name Is Earl” has received the People’s Choice® Award, two Television Critics Awards®, a Screen Actors Guild Award® for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and Emmy® Awards for writing, directing, casting and editing. With bonus features including deleted scenes, a gag reel, an all-new featurette and more, “My Name Is Earl” Season Four will be available on Blu-ray Disc for $59.99 U.S. / $69.99 Canada and on DVD for $49.98 U.S. / $59.98 Canada. Prebook is August 19.

Synopsis:
“Karma” should be a four-letter word. Just ask Earl, the lovable loser with a hilarious laundry list of dirty deeds that need undoing, from stealing a childrens bookmobile to getting his babysitter pregnant—the hard way! And, while Earls brother Randy starts a karmic list of his own, his ex-wife, Joy, and her new husband are movin on up to the suburbs. Trouble is, you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you cant take the trailer park out of the girl. Hilariously irreverent and outrageously over-the-top, My Name is Earl: Season Four proves, once again, that karma is a funny thing.
