Angels & Demons on DVD and Blu-ray

Disc Announcements, News

In 2006, The Da Vinci Code created controversy with it’s fictional religious claims. Fans of the novel by author Dan Brown were ecstatic to see the best-selling book get the big screen treatment, and by none other than Academy award winning director Ron Howard. The book however, is a sequel to the book Angels & Demons written in 2000. The movie Angels & Demons was re-written to be a sequel instead of a prequel, but fans of the novels were eager to gobble up another movie adaptation.

Angels & Demons debuted at the box office to less than stellar numbers, but since then, there have been several films over the summer to fare very well. Perhaps due to the recession, early summer movie goers weren’t as willing to shell out their hard earned cash. This DVD and Blu-Ray release is their chance to catch Angels & Demons.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced 1-disc DVD, 2-disc DVD, and 2-disc Blu-ray releases of Angels & Demons all of which arrive on November 24, 2009.

The 1-disc DVD will include the theatrical cut of the film only, along with 4 featurettes – Rome Was Not Built In A Day, Writing Angels & Demons, Characters In Search Of The True Story, CERN: Pushing the Frontiers of Knowledge.

The 2-disc DVD will include the extended edition only, along with all of the above features and a Hans Zimmer Music Studio, and 3 more featurettes – Handling Props, Angels & Demons: The Full Story, This is an Ambigram.

The Blu-ray edition will include the theatrical and extended cuts, all of the above features, plus an exclusive Path of Illumination feature, and a digital copy of the extended film.

She prefers horror movies to chick flicks, and she can easily hang with the guys as long as there are several frou-frou girlie drinks to be had.
