ROH News – Eddie Edwards update, final Survival of the Fittest spot, Corino’s return, and more

The following news items were posted on the October 5th edition of the ROH Newswire:

The newest ROH Videowire is now available for viewing. This edition includes footage of Jim Cornette’s return at Glory By Honor VIII; a look at the final match between Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness; comments from Kevin Steen & El Generico on their Ladder War match; words from Chris Hero and Sonjay Dutt; and the official announcement of the first ever international Austin Aries Lucky Lottery, from Aries himself.

Eddie Edwards’ surgery to repair his broken elbow has been postponed until tomorrow (10/6). ROH will have an update on Edwards’ condition as it becomes available.

ROH has yet to make a definitive announcement regarding the sixth and final qualifying spot on the “Survival of the Fittest 2009″ tournament, taking place this Saturday in Indianapolis. However, according to the wire, “ROH officials and [Jim] Cornette are now stating that events taking place this Friday night in suburban St. Louis will have a direct impact on determining that spot.”

Colt Cabana appeared on this week’s Wrestling Roundtable, where he discussed his life, career, and the upcoming documentary titled “The Wrestling Road Diaries,” on which he is featured, among others. Click here to watch Cabana’s appearance.

As reported earlier today by Brad Curran, Steve Corino is set to make his ROH return. Corino will be on hand for the November 5th and 6th ROH on HDNet tapings in Philadelphia.

The following wrestlers have also been signed for the November 5th and 6th television tapings: Tyler Black, Steen & Generico, Eddie Kingston (11/6 only), Kenny King, Rhett Titus, Chris Hero, Silas Young, and Davey Richards. More announcements to come next week.

ROH returns to Edison, NJ, on November 7th. The following talent has been signed for that show: Austin Aries, Colt Cabana, Joey Ryan, Roderick Strong, Kenny King, Rhett Titus, the Briscoes, Tyler Black, and Claudio Castagnoli. More announcements to come.

ROH will be in Detroit on November 13th and suburban Toronto the next day. Talent signed for those shows at this time includes: KENTA, The Young Bucks, Austin Aries, Davey Richards (11/13 only), and the Super Smash Brothers.
