Get ‘em or Don’t Sweat ‘em Week 12
by Ryan Lester on December 1, 2009

There were some unusual heroes on Sunday. There always are. Let’s take a look at them and see if they are worthy of your fantasy rosters.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, Buffalo Bills
Fitzpatrick played a nice game leading the Bills to a victory over the Dolphins. He’s worth owning in two-QB leagues, especially now that T.O. has started to produce. He’s not worth owning in standard leagues though.
Ruling: Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Chris Redman, QB, Atlanta Falcons
Redman had a nice game filling in for Matt Ryan. Ryan attempted to return to the game, which improves his chances to play next week. Even so, you’re probably better off sticking your current backup if Ryan can’t go. Obviously he has value in 2-QB leagues if Ryan misses any action.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Vince Young, QB, Tennessee Titans
VY threw for 387 yards and the winning TD. He’s more than just managing games, he’s making plays. He’s worth grabbing for some depth if you’re dealing with injury issues.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Fred Jackson, RB, Buffalo Bills
Jackson scored a pair of TDs and had 116 total yards. When he gets a chance to carry the  load he is very effective. Look for him to be a force down the stretch.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Larry Johnson, RB, Cincinnati Bengals
LJ ran harder than he did in a long time. If Cedric Benson is out again next week, LJ would likely carry the load and be a nice play.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Justin Forsett, RB, Seattle Seahawks
If by chance, Forsett is still available in your league, he won’t be for long after his two TD, 130 yard effort.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Chris Brown, RB, Houston Texans
Brown had a nice game early for the Texans, but Indy forced them to turn to the air. Brown doesn’t do quite enough to merit a fantasy spot, but he does enough to make it hard to start Steve Slaton.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Jason Avant, WR, Philadelphia Eagles
Avant has been productive the past three weeks, and if DeSean Jackson’s concussion causes him to miss next week’s game, Avant becomes an intriguing play.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Kenny Britt, WR, Tennessee Titans
Britt has taken advantage of the Titans’ injuries and has formed a nice rapport with VY. He’s worth grabbing down the stretch.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Anthony Fasano, TE, Miami Dolphins
Fasano had a nice game with 5 catches for 74 yards. This is only his second good game of the year so don’t add him for the stretch run.
Ruling:  Don’t Sweat ‘em.

Chris Chambers, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
If Chambers didn’t get picked up last week, go ahead and grab him. He’s not available in most active leagues, but I’ll point it out anyway.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.

Dante Rosario, TE, Carolina Panthers
Rosario had four catches for 62 yards. It was his second straight game with four receptions. With Tampa Bay on the horizon, he makes a sneaky TE play for those hurting at Tight End.
Ruling:  Get ‘em.
