Neve Campbell Confirms Wes Craven's Involvement In Scream IV

Casting News, News, Projects

It’s been close to ten years since the remaining gang from the Woodsboro murders were tormented by a knife-wielding killer dressed in all black and flashing a ghostface mask, but that doesn’t mean another copycat isn’t ready to don the cloak.

Black Book Magazine recently conducted an interview with Sceam trilogy starlet Neve Campbell about many things, but questioned whether rumors of a fourth film in the franchise would ever come true.

Not only does Campbell confirm that her, David Arquette (Dewey), and Courtney Cox (Gale Weathers) start shooting Scream IV in April, but that another return or two is imminent. Writer Kevin Williamson is on board to pen the script but she also strongly feels that Wes Craven would come back to direct.

I’m pretty sure at this stage that Wes [Craven] is back on board to direct and Kevin [Willamson] is definitely writing it…so it is going to be great.

No details are yet known about the plot for the film, but the first three centered around main role Sidney Prescott (Campbell). A masked killer haunted her and her friends killing them off one by one after the grisly murder of Sidney’s mother. Going through high school friends, a vengeful mother, and a long lost brother…Sidney has survived. She may think it’s over, but there are still secrets to be revealed.

We’ll get you more on Scream IV as we find it out.
