UFC 109: Official Fight Card

Previews

UFC 109 is set for this Sat. (Feb. 6) live from the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card in its entirety will be live on pay-per-view, while two of the preliminary fights will make their way onto SpikeTV.

The card features a long-overdue, yet still very intriguing match up between Randy Couture and Mark Coleman in a light heavyweight fixture that could have title implications. In the co-main event, Chael Sonnen looks to dethrone top tier middleweight Nate Marquardt, who finds himself one win away from another shot at Anderson Silva, or the first crack at Vitor Belfort if “The Phenom” manages to steal the belt from “The Spider”.

Also on the card is another middleweight match up between Dan Miller and Demian Maia. Maia was destroyed in under a minute at UFC 102 when Nate Marquardt landed a one-punch knockout. Miller has not been inside the octagon for nine months since his loss to Chael Sonnen at UFC 98.

The final two fights of the main card are welterweight showdowns in Mike Swick vs. Paulo Thiago and Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg. The winner of either fight will not likely receive a title shot, but the two bouts should prove entertaining regardless.
