Disc Announcements, News

The final installment of the Three Stooges’ legendary 190 Columbia shorts shall brighten the summer. Amazon lists the The Three Stooges Collection, Vol. 8: 1955-1959 to be released on June 1. The 32 shorts made over the five-year period contains the final work of Shemp Howard and the short Stooge career of his replacement Joe Besser. The Besser-era is noted for his contract stipulating that Moe and Larry couldn’t beat him up. The Besser shorts have been overlooked in recent decades as TV packages prefer to focus on Curly and Shemp.
