Pellegrino rolls through Jersey with a submission victory

Kurt Pellegrino vs. Fabricio Camoes quickly became what many expected, a high-level grappling match. While it may have been a close fight at first, the 155-pound match up quickly turned into a one-sided match.

Pellegrino was the first one in deep trouble when Camoes nearly locked on a standing rear naked choke. However, Pellegrino survived the early submission attempt to control the rest of the round. Camoes was noticably worn down after the early submission attempt, and Pellegrino took it from there.

The second round began on the feet, but only for a few seconds. Pellegrino ended up on top of the Brazilian on the ground and immediately worked towards the best, but Camoes managed to ward off the danger. However, Pellegrino continued to wear on his opponent. Finally, “Batman” took the back with the fight winding down and locked in the rear naked choke.

The victory was possibly Pellegrino’s biggest win in his entire career. At the age of 30, the New Jersey native is looking for a run at the title. His jiu-jitsu is certainly on a different level than most lightweights and he may be sitting only a few more finishes away from a title fight at 155-pounds.
