Here’s a quick look at each year of the WWE Draft thus far with a video of a memorable moment.

The WWE Draft 2002 was co-owners of the WWE, Vince McMahon and Ric Flair. Vince got Smackdown, while Flair got Raw. Vince picked first and here’s the historic first ever WWE Draft Pick:

The WWE Draft 2004 was Vince McMahon’s desire to begin anew with the tag line “it all begins again” giving each of his General Manager’s six picks. The GMs? Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff:

The WWE Draft 2005 took place over the entire month of June and was all about the WWE’s new stars, Batista and John Cena.

The WWE Draft 2006 was the re-debut of ECW, allowing Paul Heyman to take superstars from Raw and Smackdown.

The WWE Draft 2007 was the first 3-brand draft where the winners of matches would get picks for their brand.

The WWE Draft 2008 followed the same format as 2007, but one huge name would go to Smackdown for the first time:

The 2009 WWE Draft followed the format of the 2 years prior, but added in a supplemental draft.
