Inside Pulse Movies has been posting news about Machete as far back as April 2008. Any little detail, like its distribution or a set release date we want our readers to know. Why? Because ever since Grindhouse and the news that a Machete movie was in the works, it’s been hard to contain excitement.
In celebration of Cinco De Mayo, Ain’t It Cool News has posted an “illegal” trailer of Machete in which the titular antihero has a message for the state of Arizona. As Yoda would say, “such a timely announcement, it is.” In addition to his direct-to-camera intro, you get a nice two-minute trailer that whets your appetite of the ass-kickery that will be in store come Labor Day Weekend. It’ll most likely be the last R-rated testosterone-filled movie of the year after Predators and The Expendables.
Check out the trailer below.
Ethan Maniquis, the longtime editor of the films of Robert Rodriguez, co-directs with Rodriguez in what is his first, big opportunity to direct a feature for Hollywood. And to make sure he’s got the tools to do it, Rodriguez has assembled an intriguing cast. Besides Danny Trejo, we got Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Lindsay Lohan, Steven Seagal, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marin and Don Johnson.
