The Celtics GM was fined $25,000 by the NBA for tossing a towel into the air behind the backboard as Cavs forward JJ Hickson was shooting a free throw.
Stu Jackson, the league’s executive vice president of basketball operations, fined Ainge for “an unauthorized distraction and for conduct detrimental to the game.”
On Wednesday Ainge said he regretted his decison and called it “unprofessional.”
