Chicago Blackhawks Ride Big Buff

The Blackhawks are in the Stanley Cup finals, thanks to another big goal by Big Buff. Dustin Byfuglien scored another game winner Sunday against the Sharks to help the Blackhawks sweep the top seeded sharks in the Western Final.

He is the key reason why the Hawks are going to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 1992, where they lost to the Penguins. This time they will face either the Canadiens or the Flyers, one of whom will have to find a way to stop the 257- pound screen Byfuglien.

Teams already have to try and stop Jonathan Toews (who now holds the franchise record, for a 13 game point streak, and leads all players with 25 points) and Patrick Kane (second in scoring with 20 points), not to mention others like Sharp and Hossa, but the Big Buff really showed what he was capable of against Vancouver and now has 8 goals this postseason. If the Hawks win the Cup, he will most likely get around 3 goals in the finals.

After sweeping the Sharks, who were known for their post season choking, with only the Sharks captain scoring in Game 2 and 3 the Hawks are now the top seeded team left, they are the favourite to win the Cup and the way they have been playing in most of their games, its not hard to see why. Most likely to face the Flyers, who have gotten exceptional goal-tending from Michael Leighton with three shutouts in the Eastern Final against Montreal, will have trouble seeing the puck against the Hawks and will have a much tougher task.

Reasons the Hawks should win the final are their going against a team that defied the odds making it to the final, they have good goaltender in Antti Neimi, strong defence in Seabrook and Keith, and a potent offence that came to play against the Sharks.
