Teaser Posters for Scream 4

News, Projects

The tagline reads “New decade, New rules.” Um, I guess that doesn’t extend to marketing, since we get floating heads and names that don’t match the actors’ faces. As you probably already know, Scream 4 will be directed by Wes Craven. The cast list (or should I say potential victims list?) is still being worked out and reportedly offers are going to Lake Bell (It’s Complicated), Hayden Panettiere (Heroes), Rory Culkin and Ashley Greene (Twilight). Maybe Greene’s character arc will be short-lived ala Drew Barrymore in the original. Then somebody can make the joke, “well, I guess she didn’t Twi-hard enough.” Okay, that was bad.

In Scream 4 (or as I call it – Wes Craven’s New Scream), the state of the horror genre within the film has been plagued with endless Stab sequels (the film series within the film based on the Woodsboro murders). And what has Sidney (Neve Cambell) been doing? Oh, just living by herself, trying to avoid blind dates with guys named Billy as well as avoiding any re-runs of Roseanne – she can’t stand the woman that plays Jackie. Ten years later, she’s written a book about the Woodsboro murders and has put her life back together. Only “Ghostface” has other plans. Now Sidney will confront the evils of her past and party like its 1996.

Scream 4 opens in theaters on April 15, 2011.
