EA Sports Uses FIFA World Cup 2010: South Africa to Predict World Cup Champion
by PK on June 4, 2010

EA Sports has taken a page out of my play book (see Pulse Wrestling if you don’t know what I mean), and did a full simulation of this summer’s World Cup, using FIFA World Cup 2010: South Africa.

* World Champion: Spain
* World Cup Final: Spain 3 Brazil 1
* 1st team to be eliminated: South Africa
* Golden Boot winner: David Villa (Spain), 7 goals
* Golden Ball winner: Kaka (Brazil)

USA lost its opening match 2-1 to England before registering wins over Slovenia (2-0) and Algeria (2-1) to advance to the Round of 16, where it played Germany to a 2-2 draw before losing 3-1 in a penalty shootout. Mexico also recorded a 2-1 record in the Group Stage, with wins over South Africa (2-0) and Uruguay (2-1), before losing 2-1 to Argentina in the Round of 16.

I’m sure EA Sports would like you to go out and pick up FIFA World Cup 2010: South Africa for yourself, and see how your simulation goes.
