Yuri Foreman will need surgery on his right knee after tearing meniscus in his light middleweight title fight with Miguel Cotto this past Saturday at Yankee Stadium. Cotto took the title from Foreman via 9th round TKO. Foreman was unable to put any weight on his knee numerous times between the seventh and ninth rounds. Foreman collapsed many times during that stretch only to get back up and see that he did not hand his belt over to Cotto as a result of an injury.
Foreman expects to know the extent of his injury and recovery time within the next few days. No date has yet been made for surgery.
