WWE Smackdown House Show Notes – MVP, Joey Mercury, Finlay, Dolph Ziggler

News

A strange tale from the WWE Smackdown house show in St Louis, MO, on June 5. MVP beat Cody Rhodes and at one point in the match he sold a punch by spitting his gum out high into the air. It landed in the aisle by the front row, where the fans acted all grossed out. A local independent wrestler in attendance then picked the wad of gum up, held it high in the air and gave it to his friend, who put it in his mouth. That got a big pop from the crowd.

Joey Mercury also wrestled on the show as the Straight Edge Society’s masked man, teaming with Luke Gallows in a handicap match against Kane. Mercury was said to be ripped to shreds. Kane chokeslammed both at the same time and pinned Gallows for the win.

Finlay was back on the road and worked a good fifteen minute match with Heath Slater, which Finlay won.

Dolph Ziggler also cut a promo in which he referred to his supporters as ‘Dolphans’. He lost to Christian.
