NBA News: Boston Celtics Center Kendrick Perkins Out For Game 7 Tonight

News

Perkins has some torn ligaments in his knee and won’t be in for the decisive game.

Perkins tore his MCL and PCL in game 6 while trying to land an offensive rebound in the first quarter.

Coach Doc Rivers called it a multiple ligament sprain because they hadn’t sent him to an MRI machine yet to see exactly what is going on in the knee. Rivers said that since the tests the trainers did on Perkins knee showed he couldn’t play, there was no reason to rush to get an MRI.

The Celtics will turn to Rasheed Wallace and Glen Davis to fill in for Perkins.
