DC’s newest theaterical release, Jonah Hex, came out on Friday. Based on the DC comic of the same name, it stars Josh Brolin as Jonah Hex, a disfigured cowboy. John Malkovich plays the antagonist, Quentin Turnbull, and Megan Fox plays a role she was born for as the prostitute Talullah Black.
The film was met with poor reviews, and low critical reception. Both from fans and proper movie critics. And while this reviewer has no intention to go and see it, he invites his readers and fellow writers for the site to submit some sort of review so he doesn’t have to.
Anyway, Toy Story 3 came in at #1 for the weekend bringing in $109 million.
Jonah Hex debuted at #8, and brought in $5.1 million. Coming in behind films such as Karate Kid 2, The A Team, Get Him to the Greek, Shrek Forever After, Prince of Persia, and Killers.
Iron Man 2, after almost two months in theaters, was #9 at the box office.
So those of you expecting a Jonah Hex 2…..well, DC is really good with their animated straight to DVD movies!
