Disc News: French, German Sites Offer Peek at Alien Blu-ray date, contents

Disc Announcements, News

The Alien Anthology on Blu-ray. We’ve all known it’s coming but now, thanks to the French site Palente HD, we may have an idea of when.

The site reports that the French branch of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced an October 6 release date for the Blu-ray set. While other territories may see different release dates, this at least gives us a timetable to work our speculation around.

Two editions of the anthology will be released in France: a collector’s box set, with six Blu-ray discs, and an Ultra Collector’s Limited Edition with 6 Blu-ray discs and 4 DVDs — all wrapped together in alien-egg packaging. The list price is €59.98 and €129.99, respectively.

In other news, a few snippets of news about some of the new extra content has been discovered through local certification agencies. Blu-ray.com has published a rather comprehensive list of material first uncovered by the German site DVD Duell, based on bits gleamed from the FSK, the German film rating authority and the BBFC.

Just because a bonus feature is included below does not mean it will wind up in every region’s edition. All features are unofficial until specifically mentioned by the studio in a press release.
