NBA News: JJ Redick Staying With Orlando Magic

News

The Magic matched the offer sheet Redick signed with the Bulls, so the sharp shooter will stay with the Magic.

The Bulls made Redick a 3-year $19 million deal that the Magic had one week to match. They took all seven days but decided in the end to match the offer and keep the former 11th overall pick.

The contract nearly doubles Redick’s previous salary and puts the Magic even further into the Luxury tax.

The Bulls were hoping to pry Redick away to fill a hole at shooting guard after trading away Kirk Hinrich and letting Ben Gordon leave in free agency last year.
