Boom Studios Announces Paul Cornell To Write Stan Lee's "Soldier Zero"

News

At a press conference last night, Boom Studios announced three titles that would be debuting in a new super hero universe created by industry legend Stan “The Man” Lee. Boom is partnering with Lee’s “Pow Studios” to make this happen.

First up, by writer Paul Cornell and artist Javier Pina, we have Soldier Zero launching in October.

Despite Cornell signing exclusive with DC, he has been permitted this title as his only exemption. My guess would be it’s because Mark Waid is awesome and everyone loves him, and he is Boom Studios. Regardless, no complains!

Cornell had this to say about the premise.

“Soldier Zero” is the story of Stewart, a teaching assistant at a university, who’s in a wheelchair, and of the alien creature that arrives to share his life. “Stewart always says he’s limited only by his environment: not just physical spaces not designed for wheelchairs, but by the attitudes of other people, even the overprotective care of his older brother, who raised him. For short periods of time, when the alien manifests as armor, he can experience an unlimited environment, and escape the attitudes of others. But is that betraying the feelings of others in his situation?”
