We in the killin’ Zombies business.

Zombie fans of the world unite as we are about to see a tremendous actor step into a world of the flesh-eating undead.

It has been announced at the San Diego Comic Con that New Orleans supporter Brad Pitt is set to star in author Max Brooks’ big screen adaptation of World War Z. MTV is reporting that they have spoken with Brooks and the film is finally going to be moving forward thanks to Paramount.

Paramount has also optioned for The Zombie Survival Guide and The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks as well.

World War Z tells the story of a zombie apocalypse and the few survivors trying their best to stay alive any way they know how. Zombies are nothing but popular right now and if done right, this film is sure to bring in plenty at the box office.

Pitt’s production company Plan B had originally secured the rights to the film in 2007 but it’s been on eternal hold since then. Brooks finally got word that things would be moving forward now and his dreams of a zombie-filled world would officially hit the big screen.

Brooks of course is nothing but excited. “I can’t believe how cool Paramount has been to me and these projects, and how cool Plan B has been,” he said. “I’m glad they took their time, and are trying to make the best zombie movie they can. I’m so glad they stayed with the project and so glad they found the right team.

Marc Forster (007: Quantum Of Solace) is set to direct the film which will creep into theatres during the summer of 2012.
