Second Season of Twilight Zone Announced for Blu-Ray

Disc Announcements, News

The first season isn’t even out yet and Image Entertainment has already announced the second season of The Twilight Zone in a four-disc Blu-ray collection on November 16. The release will include all 29 of the second season presented in 1080p with mono LPCM sound. It’s important to note, though, that six of the second season’s episodes were shot on videotape so their high-definition quality will be reflected as such.

Suggested retail price is $99.98.

Besides containing all of the original features included in the previously released Definitive Edition, special features on the Blu-ray release will include “Nightmare at Ground Zero,” a Rod Sterling-written episode from the television series Suspense; the second part of the 1978 interview with director of photography George T. Clemens (the first part will be included in the show’s first season Blu-ray release) and an audio interview with makeup artist/designer William Tuttle.

Stand out episodes from the second season include “Nick of Time,” “Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?” and “Mr. Dingle the Strong.”

Considering how good the series looked on DVD, I’m really curious to get a peak at the show on Blu-ray. Season 1 will a release day-buy for me. Hopefully the presentation will impress me enough that I feel compelled to forgo the Thanksgiving turkey and instead give thanks for high-defintion Sterling.
