Green Lantern Set To Be Three Movies In Three Years?

News, Top Story

Bleedingcool is reporting that Warner Bros is so confident in the success of the upcoming Green Lantern movie that they’re planning to begin production of the sequel before releasing the original, with a projected Summer or Christmas 2012 release date (based on when the Flash movie is set for release). From there they would begin production on the third for a 2013 release.

That’s like what they did with Lord of the Rings, or that crappy vampire franchise.

Though I see this news and think to myself that they’re actually trying to take advantage of the comic book elements of the story, and rather then space it out several years between, by releasing one a year they can tell a three part story that is still fresh in viewers minds. It’s an interesting approach, and to be honest, this is a lot of the Green Lantern fan in me wanting to see a lot of it on the big screen and hoping for some sort of Kyle Rayner awesome that would get a spin off.

Won’t happen, but wouldn’t it be awesome?
