The Teen Choice Awards is a clear indication on why people must be a certain age to vote for political leaders. If teens could tweet their picks, then we may have Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as president and vice president.
More than 85 million votes were in cast by teens for best in movies, television, music and sports. For movies, there is a total of 35 different individual honors. Comparatively, this year’s Oscar telecast had 24 awards.
With teenagers in charge of the voting how could The Twilight Saga (both New Moon and Eclipse) lose? Well, it couldn’t. In fact the films nabbed a total of 11 awards at Sunday’s ceremony, including honors for the three leads – Kristen Stewart and Pattinson won twice (including one for his film Remember Me), while Lautner got one.
Sandra Bullock was a multiple winner as well, accepting awards for her dramatic performance in The Blind Side and the romantic comedy The Proposal.
The 2010 Teen Choice Awards is scheduled to air at 8 p.m. (EST) Monday on Fox.
