ThunderCats snare classic voice actor to play King Claudus NOT Lion-O

News

Digging further after hearing from a reader regarding our recent ThunderCats voice actor news, it appears that IGN has heard from Warner Bros. who had different information than the talent agency that was the initial source.

Here is what IGN has learned:

I checked with Warner Bros., who are producing the show, and discovered that, alas, Larry Kenney is not playing Lion-O in the new series. But wait, there is good news!

Kenney is in fact on the new series – as none other than Lion-O’s father, King Claudus. It sounds like Ward was simply given slightly off info, or understandably assumed Kenney was playing Lion-O again when she heard he was returning to Thundercats.

Of course, this begs the question: Who is voicing Lion-O? Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find that out yet, but rest assured, we’re working on it!

ThunderCats will debut on Cartoon Network in 2011.
