Adrien Brody and Jonathan Rhys Meyers rumored to play Mr. Fantastic
by Danny Cox on August 23, 2010

Can you think of a better comic book franchise to get a total reboot than the Fantastic Four?

Neither can I.

Well, it appears as if that is what is going on and there are already two names in the running for the role of Mr. Fantastic/Reed Richards. Fox seems to be going forward with a reboot of the Fantastic Four after X-Men: First Class and ScreenRant is reporting that Adrien Brody and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers are two actors in consideration for the leader of the group.

I think either of those two would fit into the role nicely in what will hopefully be a film that will be much less cartoon-ish. One thing that will help is that someone from inside the Fox SFX has said that The Thing will be completely CGI. Thank God.

Brody is already hearing his name in conjunction with another comic book film, Ant-Man.

Word right now is that Fox is aiming for a release in the summer of 2012. Not much else is known but it will come your way as I get it.
