The Vikings are suffering injuries at the position and Walker is a depth player.
No deal has been announced yet, but sources say the two sides are close to a deal.
Walker, whose only Pro Bowl season came in 2004 with the Packers when Favre was his quarterback, hasn’t had a 1,000-yard receiving season since 2006 when he was with the Denver Broncos.
Walker, however, clashed with Favre before he left the Packers in a trade after the 2005 season. Favre torched Walker for skipping the Green Bay Packers’ 2005 minicamp.
