Man Who Extorted David Letterman Released From Jail Early

Good behavior can get you somewhere. PEOPLE reports that “After pleading guilty to grand larceny for his attempt to extort $2 million from David Letterman in return for remaining silent about the TV host’s office affairs, Robert ‘Joe’ Halderman was released from prison Thursday, having served only four months of his six-month sentence due to good behavior.

“The Emmy-nominated, former CBS 48 Hours producer was also married right before he began his jail sentence, his rep confirmed.”
