NFL News: Green Bay Packers Extend Contract Of Charles Woodson

News

Woodson was the defensive player of the year last year and will be a key piece of the Packers defense this year as well.

Woodson and the Packers have reportedly agreed to a 2-year extension at the end of the 3 years he has left on his current contract. Financial terms were not immediately released.

Woodson tied for the league lead in 2009 with nine interceptions, returning three for touchdowns.

Woodson was the first cornerback chosen as the top defensive player since Deion Sanders in 1994.
