Torres has been a big surprise for the Giants all season with the 13th highest WAR of all NL batters.
Andres Torres will miss 10-14 days with after having an appendectomy Sunday according to manager Bruce Bochy.
“These things happen. You hate to see it,” Bochy said. “I feel terrible for Andre, with the year he’s having and what a great job he’s done, but we have depth here.”
Torres had been hitting .287 before a recent slump sent him into the .260s, he has 14 home runs, 60 RBIs, and leads the team with 23 steals.
