Short Excerpt from Back to the Future’s “Tales from the Future”

While arguably the greatest sequel of all time is celebrating an anniversary this year – it’s The Empire Strikes Back, by the way – a number of other films are celebrating anniversaries. Movies like The Shining and Friday the 13th. But if you were a kid growing up in the ’80s, I’m betting some of you wish you could drive 88 miles per hour.

Of course, I’m talking about Back to the Future. This October, Universal unveils the Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy on Blu-ray and DVD. DVD is nice, but those who have made the transition to Blu-ray, go Blu-ray all the way. Not only is the picture said to look better than when it was released originally in theaters (writer Bob Gale has said as much), it also has an extra or two not found on the DVD release.

Among the new extras produced for both releases is a six-part documentary called “Tales from the Future.” Recently, NBC Universal posted a short clip on YouTube, where Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale talk about coming up with the story.
