Stephen Fry Cast As Mycroft In Sherlock Holmes 2

Casting News, News

Warner Bros. has tapped Stephen Fry to play Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock’s older brother, in the Sherlock Holmes sequel. The announcement was made by Fry himself on BBC Radio.

Mycroft is actually the smarter Holmes’ brother, but he’s no where near as active or ambitious as his more famous brother.

Sherlock Holmes 2 starts shooting in the UK soon for a December 16, 2011 release date. Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law are back, and Guy Ritchie is directing again!

Skitch Commentary: This is great news!! I am a huge Stephen Fry fan. He is definitely a great addition to the cast. I am still hoping for John Simm or David Tennant to be announced as Moriarty. That would make me one happy Doctor Who fan.

The first Sherlock Holmes movie was really good, and I am glad they are doing a second one!
