Tom Hanks Considering Role in Kathryn Bigelow’s Sleeping Dogs

Casting News, News, Rumors

When it comes to talent such as this, it’s better not to just let it lie.

Heat Vision is reporting that two-time Oscar winner Tom Hanks is seriously considering a lead role in Kathryn Bigelow’s film titled Sleeping Dogs. The script for the film was written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker).

Set in an organized crime district between Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina; Sleeping Dogs focuses on the lives of five different men that work in the crime-filled area. Production is set to begin early next year and Hanks is in talks directly with Bigelow to play one of the five leads.

Some of the other names that are being thrown around for the remaining leads are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jeremy Renner, Sean Penn, Will Smith, Javier Bardem, and Christian Bale. Getting five of those actors, or even just two or three, together on film could automatically elevate Sleeping Dogs into a “must-see” film for the time of its release. Let’s hope that at least a few of those talents are going to be coming on board.
