Soccer News: Xavi Will Miss Match-Up With Valencia

News

Xavi has been resting during international competition, but still isn’t fit enough to make a go.

Barcalona will be without star Midfielder Xavi as they take on the current La Liga leaders, Valencia, on Saturday. Xavi has been nursing a sore achilles tendon and the special advisor watching the injury said the game was too soon.

Xavi reportedly only has pain in one side of the achilles now, when he started resting the pain was in both sides of the tendon.

Xavi missed Spain’s wins over Lithuania and Scotland during the international break. He is expected to be back in time for Barca’s match against FC Copenhagen in the Champions League next week.

Barcalona will also be without David Villa in the Valencia match as he recovers from a knee injury he sustained in the Spain vs Scotland match.
