Jake Westbrook reportedly underwent surgery to repair a small tear in his left shoulder within the last 10 days.

Westbrook is a right-handed pitcher and the surgery isn’t expected to prevent him from working out in the offseason, meaining Westbrook should be in top form at the start of next season.

Westbrook pitched well down the stretch for the Cardinals going 4-4 with a 3.48 ERA in 12 starts after they acquired him from the Cleveland Indians. Westbrook will be a free agent after the World Series.
