As we enter the season of the prestige pictures, Paramount Pictures took a page out of the Don Draper playbook and debuted a special trailer for The Fighter during the season finale of AMC’s Mad Men. What is looking more and more like another Oscar contender for the studio – Paramount also has True Grit coming out on Christmas Day – this promotional spot is tailor made for the astute viewer and having it premiere on a program that is likely watched by many Academy voters, it surely gets its point across.
Deadline has the online exclusive, and it is a trailer that spotlights Christian Bale’s performance as Dick “Dickie” Eklund, older brother to Mickey Ward (played by Mark Wahlberg).
