First Images from Tintin from Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg
by Danny Cox on November 2, 2010

“The Adventures of Tintin” is a comic strip series that actually ended before I was even born, but that doesn’t mean it’s something unknown to me. Which makes the first images from the new stop-motion film about Tin Tin that much cooler.

Empire Magazine did an interview with Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson about their upcoming 3D film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. Not only did the two geniuses of film discuss the stop-motion feature, but the first couple images from Tin Tin were also released. (See below)

In the article, Spielberg gives a little bit of information regarding the first film of the planned trilogy:

“The first part of the film, which is the most mysterious part, certainly owes much to not only film noir but the whole German Brechtian theatre — some of our night scenes and our action scenes are very contrasty. But at the same time the movie is a hell of an adventure.”

This looks like it is going to be absolutely fantastic and it’s got a great cast of voice actors including Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. Tintin opens in theatres on December 28, 2011.
