Al Pacino to Headline Financial Thriller Arbitrage

Variety reports that Al Pacino will star in Arbitrage opposite Eva Green and Susan Sarandon.

Set to begin production in spring, this thriller from is from writer-director Nicholas Jarecki marks his debut as a feature filmmaker. Previously, he directed 2005’s The Outsider, a documentary about filmmaker James Toback and his twelve days shooting When Will I Be Loved, a film that had neither a script nor a distribution deal at the time of production.

The term “Arbitrage” means the simultaneous purchase and sale of the same securities, commodities, or foreign exchange in different markets to profit from unequal prices.

Al Pacino stars as a hedge fund magnate who does just that. Finding himself in over his head, desperation sets in as he tries to complete the sale of his trading empire to a major bank. But something unmistakable happens and he has to turn to an unlikely person for help.
