Deadline reports that Channing Tatum (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) is at the top of the list for the lead role in the big screen adaptation of 21 Jump Street.
Tatum would join Jonah Hill as the two play a pair of baby-faced police officers who go undercover at a posh high school looking to stop the spread of a designer drug. Johnny Depp rose to fame as the star of the original ’80s TV series and is apparently keen on the idea of cameoing in the film.
Michael Bacall wrote the script and Phil Lord and Chris Miller (who previously directed the extremely funny Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) will be directing the film.
