Dances with Wolves Saddles Up for Blu-ray

MGM Home Entertainment has announced that Kevin Costner’s Dances with Wolves will have its Blu-ray debut on January 11, 2011. Winner of seven Academy Awards (including Best Picture), the film was the directorial debut of Kevin Costner. Originally released with a run time of 175 minutes, Costner would produce a director’s cut that would add an hour to that running time. Those that prefer the the theatrical cut to the director’s cut, unfortunately only the director’s cut will be arriving on Blu-ray.

Newly restored and with a new 7.1 Master Audio track, the Blu-ray will retain all of the features found on the special edition DVD release plus a few more extras. The Blu-ray carries a suggested retail price of $21.99.
